Worm steals 45,000 Facebook passwords!
A computer worm has stolen 45,000 login credentials from Facebook, security experts have warned. The culprit is a well-known piece of malware – dubbed Ramnit – which has been around since April 2010 and has previously stolen banking details.
Attention Facebook Users
Ramnit, a nasty worm first detected on infected machines in 2010, robbing browser cookies and FTP information, then in 2011 was discovered on 800,000 after stealing financial data throughout the year, has now been found to have stolen over 45,000 Facebook login names and passwords.
It is believed that after Ramnit steals the Facebook credentials, it then accesses their account, and posts a web link that leads to the Ramnit worm, which infects the computer.
We suspect that they use victim’s credentials to continuously spread the Ramnit malware through Facebook.
Hackers are finding social networks like facebook provide a more productive way for them to steal user’s sensitive information. So!!!!
Be Careful
